FYI: New Gods are a DC AU fic of Marvel's Thor as a result of Ragnarock. They're Gods in the sense they live up to their name as an embodiment of abstract concepts as any deity in ancient mythology. If a New God is killed they become one with "The Force," Astro or Omega and undoubtedly reincarnate. So if my interpretive hypothesis is in line with Jack Kirby's original vision, New Gods don't truly "die," they simply reincarnate like Aang the Avatar.
